Summary:

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food to order while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, cleanliness, and food safety. The Line Cook works as part of the café kitchen team to provide golfers, members, guests, and staff with prompt, friendly, and high-quality food service.
The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preparing great food and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
Set up and stock assigned workstations before service.
Prepare ingredients including meats, vegetables, sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other café menu items.
Cook food accurately and efficiently during busy periods.
Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Keep workstations, cooking equipment, storage areas, and kitchen surfaces clean and organized.
Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures.
Monitor food quality and freshness and communicate shortages or quality concerns to management.
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate preparation levels.
Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
Work cooperatively with servers, café staff, management, and other kitchen employees.
Provide courteous and professional service to golfers, members, guests, and staff when interaction is required.
Follow all applicable health department, food-safety, and workplace safety regulations.
Perform other kitchen and café duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous line cook, prep cook, restaurant, café, or food-service experience preferred.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen sanitation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry kitchen supplies as required.
Food-handler certification is preferred or required as applicable by local regulations.

Work Environment:

The Hog Neck Golf Course Café operates in a seasonal, customer-focused environment. The position may require mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and increased availability during peak golf season.
