Registration for Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2024 Summer Camp is open.

Parks and Recreation hosts 9 weeks of camp filled with sports, crafts, field trips, and more from June 17th to August 16th for ages 5 to 12.

In addition to traditional summer camp activities hosted at the Community Center, campers participate in two field trips and one afternoon at the community pool each week.

Field trips for this year include Shore Party Rentals, Salisbury Zoo, Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake, Altitude Trampoline Park, Cabin Fever, Extreme Play Laser Tag, Main Event, Tardigrade Obstacle Course Racing and Fitness Facility, Killens Pond Water Park, Skate World, Port Discovery, Easton Bowl, Hyper Kidz Indoor Playground, and Chuck E. Cheese’s.

The weekly field trips continue to be a highlight of the Summer Camp program.

In Week 2, campers will hop aboard with Chesapeake Pirates in Annapolis. During the adventure, campers explore map skills, maritime history, and nautical terms, search for sunken treasure, fire the famous water cannons, and create lasting memories.

Another highlight happens in Week 6, where campers head to Port Discovery in Baltimore. During this field trip, campers will choose their own adventure with a full day of play, exploration, and fun in the three floors of hands-on experiences, interactive exhibits, and entertaining programs all designed to spark imagination, and learn through play.

“The field trips are a great way to let children participate in programming that we can’t offer directly at the Community Center or even within the county,” said Preston Peper, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We’ve worked hard to put together an exciting list of field trips for the 2024 summer schedule.”

The field trips offer a way to let campers explore Maryland with their peers in a safe and friendly environment.
