Talbot County is gearing up for the 2026 Talbot Day Celebration, and the community is invited to engage in two longtime traditions: the Talbot Day Poster Contest and the Talbot Citizen & Service Awards. Talbot Day marks the official birthday of the County and includes programs that encourage community creativity and recognize individuals who volunteer their time to make a difference in our County.
The Talbot Day Poster Contest invites residents of all ages to showcase their creativity by designing a poster inspired by this year’s theme, “Celebrate Talbot.” Winning designs will be displayed in downtown Easton, and artists will have the opportunity to participate in the Talbot Day Celebration.
For complete guidelines, visit the Talbot Day Poster Contest page at talbotcountymd.gov/tdpostercontest. Poster submissions are due by April 1, 2026. Submissions can be submitted online or delivered to the Talbot County Courthouse, South Wing, 11 N. Washington Street, Suite 13, Easton.
The Talbot County Council is also seeking nominations for the Talbot Citizen & Service Awards, which honor local individuals who have made a significant impact through volunteerism and service to the community. These awards celebrate the unsung heroes who dedicate their time, talents, and efforts to improving the quality of life in Talbot County.
For guidelines and the nomination portal, visit talbotcountymd.gov/tdawards. Nominations are due by April 1, 2026 and can be submitted online.
Both the Talbot Day Poster Contest and the Talbot Citizen & Service Awards are designed to engage the community, celebrate creativity, and honor those who make Talbot County a better place to live, work, and visit.
“As we approach the nation’s 250th anniversary and prepare to celebrate Talbot County’s 365th milestone year, this year’s Talbot Day traditions carry even greater meaning,” said Sarah Kilmon, Communications Manager for Talbot County. “The poster contest and Citizen & Service Awards give our community an opportunity to reflect on our history, honor those who serve, and celebrate the people and places that define Talbot.”
Both the poster contest winners and Citizen & Service Award recipients will be recognized during the Talbot Day Celebration at the end of April.
Questions about any of the Talbot Day programming may be directed to Sarah Kilmon at skilmon@talbotcountymd.gov or 410-770-8009.
