Public Works provides services to enhance wastewater treatment, to efficiently recycle, collect trash and dispose of waste, and to design and construct County infrastructure and provide innovative solutions that maintain a high quality of life for residents and visitors of Talbot County.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, County Engineer, Ray Clarke, and Planning Officer, Brennan Tarleton, met with the Talbot County Council and discussed timelines for updating several planning documents for the County. These documents are guidelines for County planning, development, and engineering.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface sections of MD 331 (Dover Road) and MD 328 (Matthewstown Road) in Talbot County beginning Tuesday, May 28. Weather permitting, MD 331 will be completed in one week and MD 328 in two weeks.

On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Talbot County Sanitary District (Sanitary District) was notified by a County Inspector that the ditch adjacent to the intersection of St. Michaels Road (MD Rt. 33) and Royal Oak Road (MD Rt. 329) was damp despite there no rain for several days. There was no other evidence of a sewer leak.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Talbot County Sanitary District (Sanitary District) was alerted to high wastewater levels at the Royal Oak Pump Station. When staff responded, they determined the pump had failed and attempted to restart the pump.
