Temporary Closure of Chapel Road at Wootenaux Creek

The culvert at Wootenaux Creek along Chapel Road in Easton will be replaced beginning in late March 2026.

Talbot County Department of Public Works with David A. Bramble, Inc. will complete the work, which will include replacement of the existing culvert beneath Chapel Road and associated roadway improvements necessary to support the new structure.

Starting on or about March 27, 2026 (weather dependent), Chapel Road between Black Dog Alley and Gannon Road will be closed to through traffic and will remain closed for approximately five months, until on or about August 11, 2026, while construction is underway. Drivers should expect to follow posted detour directions.

Detour signs will be posted directing motorists to use MD 328. A copy of the detour map will be posted on the Talbot County website at www.talbotcountymd.gov/chapelroadculvert.

Talbot County Department of Public Works and the Roads Department work to ensure safety is maintained in work zones for construction crews and motorists. Drivers are asked to stay alert, follow posted detour routes, and slow down when traveling near construction areas.
