At the February 25th meeting, the Talbot County Council discussed the sewer connection issue at Paris Foods with the Town of Trappe and emphasized the need for improved municipal coordination. Council recognized TCPS Teacher of the Year Jeremy Hillyard and Support Staff of the Year Rosario Steele for their dedication to students and honored Water’s Edge Museum for preserving Black history on the Eastern Shore. Emergency Services Welcomes Two New Full-Time EMTs Following Completion of Apprenticeship Program

Talbot County Emergency Services is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its apprenticeship program for two Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Connor Flaherty and Geovanni “Geo” Greaves. The Talbot County Public School students, who joined the department as apprentices at the beginning of the 2023 academic year, were recently hired as full-time EMTs after completing their training and passing all required exams. On April 16, 2024, County Manager, Clay Stamp, and Finance Director, Martha Darling Sparks, joined the Talbot County Council to present the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed General Fund Budget. The proposed $163.9 million general fund budget upholds essential investment in employees, streamlines processes, fosters efficiencies and allocates funding for pivotal projects in public safety, education, and environmental stability.
