Emergency Services Deploys Drone During Hazmat Incident

On July 24, 2024 Talbot County Emergency Services responded to a Hazmat incident on St. Michaels Road. During the incident, Emergency Services deployed the use of an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), commonly known as a drone, to provide visual support of the affected area. Read more

On April 16, 2024, County Manager, Clay Stamp, and Finance Director, Martha Darling Sparks, joined the Talbot County Council to present the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed General Fund Budget. The proposed $163.9 million general fund budget upholds essential investment in employees, streamlines processes, fosters efficiencies and allocates funding for pivotal projects in public safety, education, and environmental stability. Corrections Facility Receives Recognition of Achievement Award

An audit of the Talbot County Department of Corrections (TCDC) was conducted on September 12-13, 2023 by the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards, Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. After a thorough review, TCDC was found to be in total compliance with all standards of an Adult Detention Center. This is Talbot County’s second time achieving total compliance in the initial audit. Talbot County Department of Social Services Hosts Foster Parent Training on Car Seat Safety and Infant Massage

Talbot County Department of Social Services recently held an in-person training for resource parents on car seat safety and infant massage. The training was provided by Rachael Crawford, RN, Maternal Child Health at the Talbot County Health Department, and Stephanie Blades, RN, Clinical Educator in Women and Children’s Health at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health. Emergency Services Joins Apprenticeship Program with TCPS

On July 26, 2023 Talbot County Department of Emergency Services sat down with Talbot County Public Schools’ student, Geovanni “Geo” Greaves, to sign paperwork to make him the very first county-employed apprentice in the Talbot County Youth Apprenticeship program through TCPS and the Maryland Department of Labor.
