Corrections Facility Receives Recognition of Achievement Award

An audit of the Talbot County Department of Corrections (TCDC) was conducted on September 12-13, 2023 by the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards, Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. After a thorough review, TCDC was found to be in total compliance with all standards of an Adult Detention Center. This is Talbot County’s second time achieving total compliance in the initial audit. Talbot County Announces Business Academy Graduates

The Talbot County Council awarded graduation certificates to 15 participants in the inaugural Talbot Works Business Academy on Tuesday, April 9, at their regular meeting. Talbot County Department of Social Services Hosts Foster Parent Training on Car Seat Safety and Infant Massage

Talbot County Department of Social Services recently held an in-person training for resource parents on car seat safety and infant massage. The training was provided by Rachael Crawford, RN, Maternal Child Health at the Talbot County Health Department, and Stephanie Blades, RN, Clinical Educator in Women and Children’s Health at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health. Pennrose and Housing Commission of Talbot Break Ground on Doverbrook Apartments Redevelopment, Funding provided by County and Town

Talbot County, the Housing Commission of Talbot (HCT), Easton, and Pennrose celebrated the groundbreaking of the Doverbrook Apartments redevelopment, which will replace the outdated 50-unit public housing community with 64 brand-new, energy-efficient mixed-income homes and on-site community amenities. Sewage Discharge at Royal Oak Pump Station - Intersection of St. Michaels Road (MD 33) and Royal Oak Road (MD 329)

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Talbot County Sanitary District (Sanitary District) was alerted to high wastewater levels at the Royal Oak Pump Station. When staff responded, they determined the pump had failed and attempted to restart the pump. Read more
