The Avalon Foundation, in collaboration with the Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism, has been awarded the Transactional Opportunities Award at the 2024 Maryland Tourism Awards. This recognition, presented during the 43rd Annual Maryland Tourism & Travel Summit in Harford County acknowledges the significant impact of the Plein Air Easton Competition and Arts Festival on local tourism and economic growth. Talbot County Declares November as Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month

In a united effort to address pressing social issues, the Talbot County Council has proclaimed November as Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month. This initiative aims to bring attention to the severe and often hidden challenges faced by individuals and families experiencing hunger and/or homelessness, both locally and across the state of Maryland. The Council hopes to increase awareness, promote resources, and encourage community involvement in addressing these pervasive issues. Read more
